History
Lake George Cawood Association was founded by Fred Buser in the summer of 1992, becoming incorporated as a non-profit organization in January 1996. 

Mission Statement
The Association provides a forum for co-operation among its members in several areas of mutual interest, including public services, infrastructure, environmental monitoring and protection, security and emergency services.


​Objectives
As a liaison between member property owners, public authorities, and land developers, the Association has the mandate to:

- enter into contracts, particularly for road  maintenance
- buy goods and services
- speak to authorities on behalf of its  members
- operate special projects and raise funds for  them
- collect membership dues and contributions
L'histoire
L'association du Lac George Cawood a été fondée par Fred Buser à l'été 1992 et a été incorporée comme organisme sans but lucratif en janvier 1996.


​Déclaration
L'Association constitue un forum de coopération entre ses membres dans plusieurs domaines d'intérêt commun, notamment les services publics, l'infrastructure, la surveillance et la protection de l'environnement, la sécurité et les services d'urgence.

Objectifs
En tant que lien entre les propriétaires fonciers membres, les autorités publiques et les promoteurs immobiliers, l'Association a le mandat de:
- entrer dans les contrats, en particulier pour l'entretien des routes
- acheter des biens et services
- parle aux autorités au nom de ses membres
- opérer des projets spéciaux et amasser des fonds pour eux

- recueillir les cotisations et les cotisations

Guiding Principles and Policies


​The association's work is guided by the following principles and policies:​

- Solidarity among property owners.
- Those who benefit from services secured by the Association, whether they are members or not, are required to pay for them.
- A fully paid-up membership maintains our capacity to provide service and reduces costs per member.  
- Municipal and provincial authorities listen more attentively to a collective voice than to an individual one.
- Organized sharing of information and experience through an association makes it easier to solve problems before they become serious and promotes better decision making, whether individual or collective.
- Self regulation is better than regulation by government.
- Dialogue among neighbours promotes cordial relations and enahces collective undertakings.
- Group decision-making respects property owners' right to privacy, peace, and quiet.
